Job summary

United Surgical Partners International is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant / Surgery Scheduler for a busy orthopedic clinic in South OKC. The role combines rooming patients, taking vitals, and accurate EHR documentation with scheduling surgeries and obtaining necessary authorizations.

Experience in medical office scheduling is preferred; Epic EHR knowledge is a plus. Orthopedic exposure is helpful but not required; compensation and benefits are provided in a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• One year medical office scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Epic EHR is a plus.
• Orthopedic experience preferred but not required.
• Worker's Compensation knowledge is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, interview, take vitals, and document in EHR.
• Process referrals and prescriptions; coordinate authorizations.
• Schedule surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
• Work with referral sources including physicians and case managers.
• Assist front and back office as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Full Time Medical Assistant / Surgery Scheduler needed for busy orthopedic physician in South OKC

Responsibilities

• The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with rooming, interviewing, taking vitals, providing accurate documentation in EHR and processing forms to include referrals, prescriptions, etc.
• The MA has a critical role in keeping the fast paced clinic running efficiently so they must be reliable, self motivated, have excellent people skills and able to work both front and back office when needed.
• Will scheduler surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
• Will obtain authorizations from work comp and private insurance companies.
• The MA/Surgery Scheduler will work closely with referral sources to include physicians, adjusters and case managers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One year medical office scheduling is preferred.
• Knowledge of electronic health records (Epic) a plus.
• Orthopedic experience preferred but not required.
• Worker's Compensation knowledge is a plus.
• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
