Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis Northside is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Spine Center - North. The MA will support the provider during visits and procedures, handle routine lab tests, referrals, and contribute to quality outcomes for the site’s patient population. Hours are 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies.
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures.
• Perform routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice.
• Actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.
