Job summary

JumpStart Games is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and healthcare staff in our Lakeland, FL offices. The role combines administrative and clinical tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and patient care.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting with procedures, administering medications (including injections), documenting in medical records, and maintaining CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures.
• Administers medication, including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physicians as required by specialty.
• Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting information in patient’s medical record.
• Maintains the integrity of the office.
• Performs additional duties specific to the specialty, and/or acquires additional license or credentials.
• Reads and references new policies and Nursing Update newsletters and maintains current CPR certification.
