Job summary

Watson Clinic LLP is seeking a Medical Assistant in Lakeland, FL to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks and support physicians in daily office operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an MA program or 1 year of MA experience, and certification within 90 days, along with current BLS or completion within 90 days. CPR certification must be maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures
• Administers medication, including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physicians as required by specialty.
• Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting information in patient’s medical record.
• Maintains the integrity of the office
• Performs additional duties specific to the specialty, and/or acquires additional license or credentials.
• Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policies and procedures and Nursing Update newsletters and assumes responsibility for maintaining current certification in CPR.
