Qualifications

• Must be an LPN or Medical Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing; must possess active Florida LPN license.
• MA path: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year MA work in last 2 years; MA certification within 90 days; BLS within first 90 days.
• Additional qualification: 1 year experience in primary care; BLS within three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by telephone triage.
• Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician.
• Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Adheres to Clinical Services policies when documenting patient medical records.
• Facilitates flow of patients to maintain the physician’s office integrity.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures.
• Maintains the integrity of the office.
