Henry Ford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Sleep Medicine department at Columbus Medical Center, Novi MI. The role supports clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, including vitals, history taking, and assisting with examinations.

Responsibilities include medication administration, charting in the EHR, patient instruction, and coordinating appointments. Requires MA program completion and BLS by orientation. Full-time, day schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
• Ability to problem-solve preferred.
• Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Escort patient to room and prepares patient for examination, procedure, and treatment.
• Obtain vital signs and record in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Obtain and record patient history employing critical thinking skills.
• Prepare for, set up and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments per protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications and immunizations as ordered by the supervising provider. Follow the six rights of medication administration.
• Document care provided during patient visit in the EHR.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Enter orders in the EHR for provider review and sign-off.
• Discharge patient with after-visit instructions to patient and/or caregiver.
