Scripps Health in San Diego (Torrey Pines Sleep Center, La Jolla) is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support sleep clinic operations. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and coordinating patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have formal MA training or certification, BLS, and experience in scheduling or back-office MA tasks. The role is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with no nights or weekends.

• Formal Medical Assistant Program or Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman is acceptable.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays. Located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla.

What you'll do:

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant
• Sleep Center experience
• Experience with scheduling appointments and MA back office experience
