Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Torrey Pines Urgent Care location. The role combines front office and back office duties in a fast-paced, teaching environment, with 12-hour day shifts from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and every-other-weekend coverage.

Primary responsibilities include EKGs, point-of-care testing, medication passes, and responding to medical emergencies while delivering compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform front and back office duties, including clerical tasks and patient check-in/out.
• Transport patients to ancillary testing areas using a wheelchair or gurney when needed.
• Take initiative and communicate effectively to support a teaching healthcare environment.
• Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, medication passes, and respond to medical emergencies as required.

This is a full-time benefited position that includes both front office and back office Medical Assistant duties (clerical and clinical). The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts, primarily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., on varying weekdays, and requires working every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
