Job summary

IRMC Sleep Center in Indiana, PA is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support sleep medicine services. The role involves coordinating patient flow, registering patients, and coordinating scheduling while delivering compassionate care in a collaborative hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, preferred MA/ED experience, and BLS or pending certification within the first month of hire, with on-site duties Monday through Thursday and no weekend or holiday

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Medical assistant office or occupational health/ED experience preferred.
• Medical assistant certification, CAOHC certification, BAT, and UDS collection or obtained within 6 months of hire preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams.
• Schedule patient appointments and register patients.
• Coordinate patient flow during sleep consultations and evaluations.
• Operate the hospital computer system and manage records.
• Maintain organized time management and work in a team setting.
• Shift is Monday through Thursday with no weekends or holidays.

In this role you will be:

• Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skill to effectively communicate with patients, families, employers, third-party case managers, and consultants.
• Rooms patients and coordinates patient flow during sleep physician consultations and evaluations.
• Competent in patient registration, client account setup, and patient scheduling.
• Organized and proficient in time management.
• Able to work in a team setting.
• Able to transition smoothly between various treatment settings.
• Able to utilize the hospital computer system.
• Shift- Monday through Thursday; NO weekends or holidays
