Scripps Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Torrey Pines area in San Diego. The role combines front and back office duties with clinical tasks, including EKGs and point-of-care testing. You will administer medications and respond to emergencies in a teaching environment at the Scripps Clinic.

Shifts are 12 hours, typically 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with varying weekdays and every-other weekend work.

Qualifications

• Formal MA program or MA certification required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required.

This is a full-time benefited position that includes both front office and back office Medical Assistant duties (clerical and clinical). The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts, primarily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., on varying weekdays, and requires working every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

Qualifications

Requirements

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Experience

• One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting
• Urgent Care experience
• Experience transporting patients via wheelchair and gurney to ancillary departments
