Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the practice under the supervision of a nurse or physician. This role combines clinical and clerical duties to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

Responsibilities include pre-visit work, vital signs, medication reconciliation, room preparation, patient scheduling, and front-desk tasks. A CMA/RMA/CCMA certification or training is required within 6 months, plus BLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA certification/registration required or within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties such as pre-visit work, obtaining vital signs, providing medication reconciliation, and assisting provider in examinations and/or procedures.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient messages the same day per policy.
• Complete pre-visit work, close gaps in care, administer vaccines, and process prescriptions.
• May schedule pre-admission and diagnostic testing and place follow up calls to patients.
• Greet, check in/out, schedule patients, answer phones, file records, collect co-pays, and manage daily cash/records.
