Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care System is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide comprehensive clinical and administrative support. The role includes rooming patients, vital signs, assisting with examinations, and managing documentation in the electronic health record.

Under supervision, you will coordinate referrals, prepare exam rooms, and educate patients. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as patient care needs dictate.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience working with a culturally diverse population.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vital signs, medical history and chief complaint.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures; maintain sterile rooms.
• Administer vaccines and injections under supervision per protocol.
• Provide patient education and coordinate referrals and prior authorizations.
• Document in electronic health records accurately and timely.
• Support front desk tasks and maintain clinic operations.
