Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Orthopedic Pantops Office is hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant/Scribe in Charlottesville, VA!

Hours: Monday-Friday, Dayshift. NO NIGHTS, HOLIDAYS, or WEEKENDS!

Role Description

The MA Scribe will serve dual roles as a Medical Assistant and clinical scribe. This position manages the patient's entire visit, including clinical pre-visit planning, detailed rooming, performing clinical procedures, and documenting provider interactions into the EMR. The MA Scribe will collect data, chart encounters in real-time during assessments, care plans, and discharges as directed by the Physician, Provider, Clinician, or Therapist. They will document information into the electronic health record, edit reports as needed, and handle patient care and administrative tasks based on training and competency, under the supervision of the healthcare team.

Education

• HS Diploma

Certification/Licensure

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Scribe Professional (CMSP)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire

Experience

• 1 year clinical/administrative experience (preferred)
