Position Overview

Assist physicians and extenders in providing medical and clerical support at orthopedic practice locations.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform procedures such as wound care, dressings, EKGs, suture/staple removal, cast/splint application and removal, injections, vaccines, botox, phlebotomy, and ultrasound assistance after training.
  • Coordinate patient care under provider supervision.
  • Prepare and room patients, document health information, and assist with radiographs and patient education.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and assist as a scribe if needed.
  • Manage pre-visit charts, review diagnostic reports, and ensure treatment areas are stocked.
  • Travel to satellite locations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum: High school diploma/GED, proof of graduation from approved Medical Assistant or athletic training program, Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure within 120 days, CPR, background checks.

Preferred: 3-5 years’ experience as an Orthopedic Technician, Medical Assistant, or Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC).
