Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Medical Assistant/Scheduling Assistant in Chicago, IL for a per diem, full/part-time role with rotating shifts from early morning to evening. Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling, patient check-in/out, and basic clinical support.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones.
• Schedule appointments.
• Collect co-pays.
• Complete patient registration.
• Provide front desk support and clerical assistance to the physician practice.
• Check in/out patients and verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam room.
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for visit.
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight); phlebotomy/injections may be required.

Hourly Pay Range

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Location: Chicago, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
• Hours: Rotating hours between 6:45am-7pm (8-hour shifts)
• Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need

What you will do

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need

Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.

Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.

Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
