Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Medical Assistant / Patient Support Associate for the anesthesia pain management team in Skokie, IL. The role is full-time with hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

You will answer phones, schedule appointments, register patients, collect co-pays, and provide front office support. Some phlebotomy and injections may be required as part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; accredited medical assisting program preferred.
• CPR certification required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT/AAMA) preferred but not required.
• One year of work experience in a medical office or related field preferred; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments and complete patient registration.
• Provide front office support and assist physician practice.
• Check in/out patients and verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms; document vitals, allergies, meds, visit reasons.
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

What You Will Do

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What You Will Need

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience
