Job Summary

Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the supervision of a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or physician.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with treatments ordered by the provider, perform select clinical duties under supervision.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, prepare treatment rooms.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Manage supplies, maintain a clean environment.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• For Wisconsin only: High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience and graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.

Experience

No experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech.
• Ability to lift/carry objects up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Repetitive movements, use of vision, occasional bending and moving patients.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
