Job Description

• This is a Full Time position (40 hours/week) at the Lake Forest hospital campus, Monday through Friday.

The Medical Assistant supports physicians, nurses, and other licensed staff by facilitating patient flow, assisting with care activities, and handling administrative tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical areas, promoting patient satisfaction, and safeguarding confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient patient flow, including escorting patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting visit reasons, and preparing exam rooms.
• Assist practitioners with procedures such as ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, and waived testing.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms, maintain safety and inventory standards, and assist with supply ordering.
• Promote patient satisfaction through professional interactions and team participation.
• Perform delegated specialty procedures safely and effectively.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proof of eligibility for certification exams (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NRCMA). For new grads within 6 months, a letter from the school or certifying body is required.
• Within six months of employment, complete one of the following certifications: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA.
• High school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR certification, and strong computer skills are required.
• Preferred: Completion of an accredited MA program, 1-2 years of ambulatory care experience, and EMR experience.
