Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at the Internal Medicine department in Georgia. The role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, medication reconciliation, medical history, and health maintenance tasks.

You will assist providers with procedures, perform POCT and waived lab tests, and manage documentation, vaccines, and referrals. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training.
• Proficient in vitals, patient history collection, medication reconciliation, and health maintenance activities.
• Experience with CLIA-waived tests and basic lab procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows clinic policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, screenings, allergies.
• Assists provider and performs procedures as ordered; prepares lab orders and tracks results.
• Performs POCT and CLIA-waived testing per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Handles duties like scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
