Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Bend, OR is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinics across Central Oregon. You will manage daily patient flow, triage information, document clinical data, and assist physicians with exams and procedures.

Required: HS diploma or GED; MA program preferred; MA certification from AMT/NCCT/AAMA/NAHP/NHA or Oregon licensure; BLS. Travel to other sites may be required; relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current MA Certification from AMT, NCCT, AAMA, NAHP, NHA or Oregon licensure as EMT/LPN/RN/AT; BLS required.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions.
• Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems.
• Must maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessment.
• Record and maintain patient data in medical charts.
• Assist physicians with phone requests from patients and professionals.
• Perform physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical procedures (excluding IV meds).
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory.
• Support Lean continuous improvement and organizational values.
• Provide safe environment and professional, confidential care.
