• 40 hours per week
• Dayshift Monday-Friday
• 8:00am-4:30pm
• No weekends or holidays!
• Registered or Nationally Certified Medical Assistants also qualify for a $2500 sign-on bonus!

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Obstetrics/Gynecology clinic serves women from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, primarily from the St. Louis metropolitan area. Any woman, regardless of age, is eligible for care in the OB-GYN Clinic. Services include routine OB-GYN care, prenatal care, well-women exams, and family planning. The clinic provides outpatient OB-GYN and nursing care through health promotion, prenatal screening, diagnosis, treatment, and education.

Role Purpose

This position supports the clinical care team under the guidance of nursing staff. Responsibilities include assisting with outpatient visits through tasks aligned with practice protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Cleans, prepares, and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
2. Performs clinical skills such as point-of-care testing and EKGs, maintaining accurate documentation.
3. Supports outpatient encounters by managing patient flow, including scheduling appointments, tests, and lab work, and coordinating resources like durable medical equipment.
4. Assists with outpatient procedures, including setting up instruments, labeling specimens, and chaperoning exams.
5. Obtains patient information, including vital signs and health histories, and relays this information promptly to the healthcare team.
6. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.
