We are seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant II to support the practice onsite Monday through Friday picking up a minimum of 2, 8-hour shifts a month to cover call out, vacancies, and vacations. As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team. The vision is for our Medical Assistants to work 1 to 1 with their assigned provider while having the ability to rotate occasionally.
Responsibilities include:
-Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
-Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
-Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
-Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
-Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Emergency Medical Technician - Basic [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services preferred
Experience
Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred

- Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others.
