A leading healthcare provider in Northampton seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to support a collaborative team. The role involves ensuring efficient patient flow and assisting with various clinical tasks. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of relevant experience. This position offers a structured schedule with 4, 10-hour days per week.
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support our specialty onsite, weekdays. This role will predominantly be based out of the following office: 22 Atwood Drive Northampton, MA. However, employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our 3 locations in the Northampton/Amherst area (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes). The schedule for this position is 4, 10-hour days per week, 7:30am to 6:00pm with either Wednesday or Thursday off! As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team with rotating provider coverage.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
Experience
Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others.
