Job summary

Community Care Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant with weekday availability for PRN shifts in Springhill, LA. The role supports patient care, exam preparation, and routine procedures in a patient-focused clinic.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma, active Medical Assistant certification (RMA/AAMA/NCCT/CMAC/AMCA) and BLS, with at least 1 year of experience. Strong organizational skills and teamwork are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA) preferred; BLS required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination, record vital signs and history, and provide treatment as applicable.
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms; set up, sterilize, and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound care under provider orders.
  • Collect blood and specimens; perform in-house testing and log results.
  • Document basic patient care in EMR and forms.
  • Schedule tests and follow-up appointments as applicable.
  • Instruct patients and families on treatment and medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable
  • Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
  • Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
  • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
  • Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
  • Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting
  • Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
  • Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
  • Perform opening/closing clinic duties and patient call backs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred

Compensation: Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
