Job summary

Community Care Partners in Louisiana is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a patient-centered clinic in Springhill. The role prepares patients for exams, records vital signs, and supports providers with procedures.

You will work in a team that emphasizes growth, training, and compassionate care. A high school diploma, a current MA certification, and BLS are required or preferred; 1 year experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (RMA, CMA, NCCT, AMCA); BLS certification required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination, record vital signs and history, and provide treatment as applicable.
  • Prepare exam rooms; set up, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
  • Administer injections, change dressings, and assist with wound care under providers orders.
  • Collect blood, urine, and other specimens; perform routine in-house testing and log results.
  • Document patient care in EMR and schedule tests or follow-ups as needed.
  • Instruct patients and families on treatment and medication instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure seamless patient care; perform opening/closing clinic duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable
  • Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
  • Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
  • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
  • Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
  • Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting
  • Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
  • Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
  • Perform opening/closing clinic duties and patient call backs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred
Compensation:

Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
