Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. through CareNow is seeking a Medical Assistant PRN to support patient care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will prepare patients for examination, take histories and vitals, and ensure rooms and instruments are ready for procedures.

This role involves assisting with injections, phlebotomy, and minor procedures as needed. You should have 1+ year of clinical experience, EHR familiarity, and the ability to obtain required screenings within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or approved Back Office Training Program (BOTP).
• AAMA certification is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening certifications within 30 days preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies/equipment are ready, including sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Coordinate transfers and scheduling of follow-up care.
• Coordinate physicals and workplace injury care for partner accounts.
• Screen referrals and direct to physicians as needed.
