Job summary

CareNow in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant PRN to support patient care across urgent care settings. You will prepare patients, take histories and vitals, assist with exams, injections, lab testing, and coordinate follow-up care.

The role requires 1+ year clinical experience preferred, EHR familiarity, completion of Medical Assisting program, AAMA certification helpful, and ability to obtain required screening certifications within 30 days.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or Back Office Training Program (BOTP) required.
• AAMA certification is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Breath Alcohol and Federal Drug Screening certificates within 30 days preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam/treatment rooms, instruments, supplies, and sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.
• Screen calls and refer to physicians/practitioners.
