Job summary

Valor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Washington, PA. The MA will support a multi-disciplinary team within the VA ecosystem, perform clinical tasks, and help manage patient flow according to VA guidelines.

You will provide care, collect specimens, operate diagnostic equipment, and assist with scheduling and outreach efforts while maintaining excellent customer service for patients and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum two years’ MA experience in primary or ambulatory care.
• Credentialing may be required based on VA contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, exams, and testing.
• Schedule clinic appointments and manage recall lists.
• Answer phones and relay messages promptly.
• Prepare patient check-in lists with medications.
• Collect lab specimens (urine, blood, sputum) for testing.
• Operate ECG and other diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure compliance with IG/JC/EOC and lab standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients and staff.
• Support enrollment and outreach initiatives.
