Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the GCMG Cotswold Family Medicine clinic. This 40-hour work week involves patient rooming, vital signs, medical history reviews, health maintenance, and clinical support under supervision.

Responsibilities include lab duties, POCT, vaccinations, scheduling, referrals, and maintaining a clean, stocked workspace. Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required or structured military training in clinical duties accepted.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and training.
• Perform rooming tasks: vital signs, history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and lab duties (venipuncture, specimen handling, lab orders).
• Perform CLIA-waived tests and POCT per standing orders.
• Administer medications and vaccines following medication administration rights.
• Handle referrals, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and patient communications.
