Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of accredited Medical Assistant program or clinical training in lieu of program.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Certification as CMA or RMA by national organizations (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, NCMA, CCMA, CMAC, AMCA) or similar.
• BLS certification as applicable by division.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, screenings, medication reconciliation.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties (venipuncture, labeling, specimen handling).
• Performs CLIA-waived tests and POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines following right‑of‑care principles.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and coordinates patient flow.
• Supports training of teammates and participates in committees as needed.
