UPMC Manheim Primary Care - Medical Assistant Position

UPMC Manheim Primary Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. This role offers Monday-Friday hours from 8am to 5pm, with no holidays or weekends. We offer a salary range of $18.12-$27.76, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and preparation for exams.
• Gather patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings according to provider guidelines.
• Relay instructions to patients and families.
• Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referrals.
• Complete necessary forms and requisitions.
• Prepare and organize charts, schedule appointments, verify insurance and patient demographics.
• Maintain exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies, ensuring infection control and inventory management.
• Coordinate patient flow and answer calls, providing patient education as needed.
• Perform clinic procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and assisting with physician procedures.
• Follow regulatory requirements (OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health) and maintain confidentiality.
• Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
• Handle front office duties and perform other assigned tasks.
