Job Summary

Under the supervision of the on-site provider, assists in patient care delivery by performing delegated medical tasks, supporting providers and nursing staff, and handling clerical duties. Utilizes the electronic medical record (EMR) for documentation. Access to medication storage and transport is required. Participates in daily operations, supports patient flow, and serves as a resource for Medical Assistant I, demonstrating leadership through collaboration, teamwork, communication, accountability, customer service, and clinical expertise.

Primary Responsibilities

The following outlines the general duties and responsibilities. It is not an exhaustive list.

Patient Experience

  1. Greet patients courteously, professionally, and respectfully, maintaining appropriate eye contact.

2. Follow communication protocols, respond to questions and concerns, attempt resolution, and pursue service recovery when needed.

Clinical Duties

  1. Gather and document patient history and chief complaints in the EMR, ensuring accurate and compliant documentation. Act as a clinical resource for Medical Assistant I.
  1. Follow established workflows for efficiency and timely service.
  1. Prepare patients for examinations, perform and document vital signs and risk screenings, report abnormal values, and assist providers with procedures.
  1. Perform routine clinical tests such as specimen collection, vision and hearing screenings, spirometry, EKG, and point-of-care testing, following protocols.
  1. Provide patient education materials as directed by providers.
  1. Ensure high-level disinfection of equipment and environment per protocols.
  1. Maintain supply stock in clinical areas.
  1. Verify equipment readiness and maintenance status.
  1. Provide care tailored to patient populations, considering social and age-specific needs, and participate in skill development and quality improvement initiatives.
  1. Administer select medications and injections under supervision, assist with vaccination programs, and track data accordingly.

Administrative Duties

  1. Assist with front desk operations, including check-in/out, documentation, and communication management.
  1. Enhance patient experience by communicating delays and addressing barriers.
  1. Review business communications promptly.
  1. Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory policies, reporting hazards as needed.

Additional Duties

  1. Participate in training and competency development.
  1. Engage in self-directed learning and attend educational sessions.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  1. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant supervised work experience within the last 3-5 years, vetted by HR and Department Directors.
  1. Current BLS certification.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    Knowledge of aseptic techniques, blood and body fluid precautions, clinical skills such as vital signs, effective communication, teamwork, and patient interaction skills.

    The physical demands, equipment, tools, and working conditions are detailed separately and are adaptable to individual needs.

    Additional Information

    SIGN ON BONUS: $2,500 with a 1-year commitment.

    Compensation:

    Pay Range: $20.47-28.64/hour
