Job summary

CLS Health PLLC is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice in Houston, TX. The MA will support comprehensive patient care, room patients, gather medical histories, and assist physicians with examinations and procedures.

The ideal candidate is bilingual, has 2+ years of MA experience, and can travel to CLS Health locations as needed. Proficiency with medical terminology and insurance billing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Must be bilingual.
• Must be willing to travel to other CLS Health locations.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooming the patient and collecting chief complaints and vitals.
• Prepare patient charts and verify benefits reports.
• Scan documents to patient charts and manage referrals.
• Assist physician in exam room with wounds and procedures.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and manage communications.

We are Looking for:

Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.

Responsibilities:

• Rooming the patient
• Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
• Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
• Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.
• Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.
• Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
• Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
• Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
• Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
• Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
• Travel to other CLS Health Locations
• Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
