Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant at one of our ambulatory health care sites. You will assist the provider with patient visits and procedures, perform routine lab tests, handle referrals, and contribute to quality outcomes for our patient population.

You will prepare exam rooms, obtain vital signs and simple specimens, document care in the EPIC EMR, and support a smooth patient flow. PMAC certification must be obtained within 6 months, and radiology licensure within 6

Qualifications

• Diploma from Medical Assistant program or high school diploma + 1 year MA experience.
• PMAC Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure for Radiology required within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies.
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload.
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Diploma from a Medical Assistant program OR a high school diploma + 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in physician practice.
• PMAC Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Licensure for Radiology required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
