Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams. You will assist providers with patient visits, procedures, lab tests, referrals, and documentation using EPIC EMR.

You will help prepare exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and ensure smooth patient flow while contributing to quality outcomes and patient satisfaction. Certification within 6 months and a positive, collaborative attitude are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program.
• Certification as Medical Assistant within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas including cleaning and stocking.
• Room patients and manage provider's caseload flow.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection; document care in EPIC EMR.
• Process referrals and medication refills; maintain positive relationships with patients.

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider's caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
