Job summary

Upperline Health Inc. is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the clinic setting. The role involves a mix of clinical and administrative duties, with opportunities to grow within a stable, mission-driven organization.

The ideal candidate will have podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience, be comfortable using athenahealth EMR, and enjoy teamwork in a weekday clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• Care coordination or care management experience preferred.
• Experience with geriatric patients is ideal.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR systems; athenahealth preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for appointments and ensure comfort in exam rooms.
• Complete patient intake including medical, social, and surgical histories.
• Obtain vital signs and document accurately in athenahealth EMR.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures, including taking X-rays.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam and X-ray rooms.
• Sterilize equipment according to clinical standards.
• Conduct health assessments with Upperline Plus patients.
• Perform telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care.
• Support care coordination activities such as scheduling and referrals.
• Travel to nearby clinics as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
