Job summary

American Oncology Network, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with procedures including bone marrows and pelvic exams, perform phlebotomy, and handle specimen processing.

The role requires accuracy in testing, QA/QC, vitals collection, EMR documentation, and coordination of outside tests and referrals. Travel to multiple clinic sites and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician’s office with ability to perform venipuncture.
• BLS certification required.
• Education and licensure as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with procedures (bone marrows, fine needle aspiration, paracentesis, pelvic exams).
• Perform venipuncture and blood draws; handle specimen processing per lab protocol.
• Prepare slides for evaluation and manage QC/QA logs and equipment records.
• Enter patient data and results into EMR; ensure accurate documentation.
• Schedule outside testing and referrals as directed by physicians.
• Maintain inventory and place equipment or supply orders as needed.
