Job summary

American Oncology Network, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with procedures in-office, perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing, and ensure quality control across sites.

You will document encounters, manage specimen handling, and coordinate outside testing as required. The role requires BLS, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of clinic or physician’s office experience with venipuncture.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician’s office with venipuncture ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory blood work and quality control procedures.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures and phlebotomy.
• Prepare slides and handle specimens per procedures.
• Document results and charge for services in EMR and encounter forms.
• Coordinate outside testing and referrals as needed.
• Maintain inventory and execute instrument troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Follow safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
