Responsibilities

Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and assisting during routine procedures.
Keeps patient care areas clean, stocked and ready; escorts patients to radiology and labs as needed.
Performs point-of-care tests and provides instructions for tests.
Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies, within expiration dates.
Reviews medication lists in EMR for clinician review; may retrieve certain meds under supervision.
Uses EMR (OMR) to queue renewals and enter orders; documents tasks for billing.
Prepares schedules, charts and documents; facilitates patient flow and screens calls.
