Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston is seeking a Medical Assistant to support smooth clinical operations and patient care within the practice. This role combines clinical support with administrative tasks to greet, check-in, schedule, and assist patients with mobility and care needs.

The successful candidate will perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and document accurately in the EMR, while facilitating efficient patient flow and communication with providers and staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience in a clinical or research setting.

Responsabilités

• Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, height/weight, EKGs, phlebotomy and assisting during routine procedures.
• Performs point of care testing and ensures QC of testing equipment; provides patient instructions.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and expiration dates.
• Reviews medication lists in EMR; queues prescriptions for review by a licensed provider.
• Uses EMR to queue renewals and documents tasks for billing purposes.
• Prepares schedules, patient charts, and documents for clinical activities.
• Manages patient flow and screens callers to ensure timely service.
