Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers during patient visits in an office-based clinical setting. The role involves phlebotomy, vitals, specimen collection, and assisting with procedures, while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include equipment sterilization, lab tasks, appointment scheduling, EMR data entry, and collaboration with licensed staff. High school diploma and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience (MA, PCT, CNA; nursing/medical student with clinical rotation).

Responsabilités

• Performs a wide variety of activities during patient visits; sets up and assists providers and monitors patients during and after procedures; performs phlebotomy, vital signs, measurements, sutures and dressings as needed.
• Cleans, disinfects and inspects medical equipment; prepares equipment for sterilization; inspects equipment for damage or needed repairs.
• Performs departmental screening, lab tests and specimen collection; ensures quality control; provides patients with test instructions.
• Schedules follow-up tests and appointments; contacts patients with reminders.
• Queues prescriptions for renewal and reviews medication listings in the EMR (Web OMR).
• Procures and correlates medical correspondences; maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Enters orders and patient visit information in OMR; assists patients with ambulation and comfort as needed during exam.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are available; monitors code cart supplies and maintains inventory.
• Escorts patients to other areas; participates in training sessions as assigned.
