Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health Winchester Family Practice is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality, direct patient care in a team-based setting. You will support clinical and administrative operations, maintain accurate records in the EHR, and help ensure efficient patient flow.

The role involves performing vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, immunizations where qualified, and assisting providers during visits. A strong focus on communication and patient safety is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months clinical classroom.
• Preferred: BILH Primary Care Clinical Assistant Training, EMT Basic License, Phlebotomy Certificate or other healthcare training.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during visits, manage flow, and communicate delays to the patient and provider.
• Document vitals, allergies, medications, and screening results in the EHR.
• Perform EKGs, point of care testing, phlebotomy, and administer vaccines if qualified.
• Queue prescription renewals and enter orders in the EHR under supervision.
• Schedule tests and labs, verify insurance, and handle pre-authorizations where needed.
• Maintain PHI security and ensure patient safety and compliance with OSHA guidelines.
