Job summary

Shady Grove Fertility in Chesterbrook, PA is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to support fertility patients. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday, 6:45 AM to 1:00 PM, offering meaningful work within a nationally respected fertility network.

You will perform phlebotomy, assist with clinical care, manage lab specimens, and provide patient education and emotional support. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal MA program; preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail with data entry and computer proficiency (lab labeling, charting)

Responsibilities

• Perform high volume phlebotomy
• Maintain supplies for blood drawing stations
• Assist with clinical care of fertility patients
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
• Provide patient/couple counseling and procedure teaching
• Provide pre- and post-op education
• Perform semen washes and set up for IUIs
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
• Enter labs and print labels in the computer system
• Provide emotional support to patients and families
• Work independently to meet program goals
• Support and promote excellence in customer service

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania.

• Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday, 6:45 AM to 1:00 PM

In this role, the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist will:

• Perform high volume of phlebotomy
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
• Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
• Provide pre and post op education
• Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
• Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
• Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved
• Support and promote excellence in customer service

Qualifications and Skills Include:

• Completion of a formal MA program; preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
• Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
