Job summary

Shady Grove Fertility in Towson, MD is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist for a part-time, on-site role with alternating weekend shifts (6:30 AM–12:00 PM or until end). The position offers hourly pay of $20–$23, with opportunities to support fertility patients and labs across a national network.

The candidate will perform high-volume phlebotomy, assist with clinical care, manage lab specimens, and provide patient education and counseling.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal MA program; preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
• Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Perform high volume of phlebotomy
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
• Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
• Provide pre and post op education
• Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
• Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
• Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved
• Support and promote excellence in customer service

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomistto join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Towson, Maryland.

• Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM or until the shift ends
• Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour (commensurate with experience)
