Job summary

Patient First in Colonial Heights, VA is hiring for a medical support position. The role involves patient triage, vital signs, phlebotomy, lab duties, and assisting physicians and nurses in a fast-paced clinic.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year of clinical experience preferred, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and CPR training. Center assignments may vary to cover staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum typing experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician's office preferred.
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.

Responsibilities

• Locate patients, obtain vital signs, triage, and prepare patients for exam.
• Use electronic medical record system.
• Order labs, X-ray, and supplies as directed.
• Notify nurses/physicians when patient is ready for exam and relay questions.
• Assist nurses and physicians with patient care and treatment.
• Perform lab duties and phlebotomy as assigned.
• Sterilize and set up instruments; restock treatment rooms.
• Report to Charge Nurse before leaving; follow guidelines and policies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the treatment area and OSHA compliance.
• Attend staff meetings and operate medical/office equipment.
