Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. The MA-C performs safe clinical skills within their scope of practice and maintains continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients, and families/caregivers.

Responsibilities:

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities, including:
• Organizing patient flow with front office staff
• Interviewing patients
• Obtaining vital signs
• Preparing patients for exams or treatments
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
• Administering medications per Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
• Relaying instructions and information to patients and families/caregivers

• Fulfills clerical responsibilities, including:
• Managing patient medical records
• Facilitating patient referrals
• Preparing patient forms

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Preferred: at least one (1) year of healthcare experience
