Locations: This position will support our Mary Bridge Pediatric Outreach, Specialty, Urgent Care, and Primary Care Clinics, primarily in Pierce, King, and Thurston Counties.


FTE: 0.01, Shift: Day, Schedule: Clinic Hours - on call

Position Summary

The Medical Receptionist is the first in-person point of contact for patients on behalf of the medical practice. They are responsible for all front office duties, including greeting patients, answering phones, assisting patients and families, scheduling, registration, charge entry, payment posting, batch balancing, cash reconciliation, and operating basic office equipment. This is an intermediate level position requiring excellent customer service skills, discretion, good judgment, a professional demeanor, and an articulate phone voice. Internal and external contacts include patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and the general public.

Requirements

  • Post high school office procedures preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of clerical and/or receptionist experience; or six (6) months in a medical setting
  • Customer service experience
  • Degree or relevant Certificate (e.g., Medical Office Assistant, Medical Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator) may substitute for experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay scale ranges from $20.07 to $28.87 USD, influenced by factors such as skill set, experience, certifications, and education. If applicable, pay will align with the appropriate union contract step based on experience.
