Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago’s Lakeview clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant to join our busy physician practice. The role features full-time hours and a rotating schedule with potential evening shifts in 2027.

You will answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, register patients, verify insurance, take vitals, and provide front-office support. Phlebotomy/injections may be required, with CPR certification mandated.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• CPR certification through American Heart Association required; MA certification preferred but not required.
• One year of work experience in a medical office or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments and register patients.
• Verify insurances and greet patients.
• Provide front office support and basic vitals (BP, height, weight).
• Assist physician with administrative tasks and patient flow.
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $20.29 - $29.42 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant
• Location: Lakeview-Chicago Clinic
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week)
• Hours: 7:00AM - 5:00PM Monday -Friday - rotating - hours increasing to 8:00PM in 2027

What you will do:

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience
