Job summary

Endeavor Health's Lakeview-Chicago Clinic in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for a full-time role. You will answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-payments, register patients, verify insurances, and greet patients at the exam room, performing basic vitals as needed.

Phlebotomy and injections may be required; CPR certification is required; one year of medical office experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required; MA certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• One year of work experience in a medical/clinical setting required; prior office exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and route calls efficiently.
• Schedule appointments and manage calendars.
• Collect co-payments and register patients at check-in.
• Verify insurances and assist with patient documents.
• Greet patients, escort to exam room, and document vitals.
• Provide basic front office support and phlebotomy/injection duties if needed.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$20.29 - $29.42 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant
• Location: Lakeview-Chicago Clinic
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week)
• Hours: 7:00AM - 5:00PM Monday -Friday - rotating - hours increasing to 8:00PM in 2027

What you will do:

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need:

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification : CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Experience : One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience
