Carbon Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical staff in delivering safe, efficient patient care. You will greet patients, collect vital signs, document in the EHR, and assist with exams in a fast-paced team environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of MA experience, an accredited MA program, and current BLS certification. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, communication, and accurate recordkeeping in a patient-centered clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a clinic or physician office setting.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred; may be required.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within organizational timeframe.
• Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
• Basic computer and EHR data entry proficiency.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients, verify identity, and prepare for examinations by collecting vital signs and medical history.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are available.
• Assist with basic clinical procedures (EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, wound care).
• Administer medications and injections where permitted by state regulations.
• Coordinate patient flow and optimize scheduling to minimize wait times.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, process referrals, and manage check-in/check-out.
• Educate patients on procedures, follow-up instructions, and basic health maintenance.
